  The "Pop-In"

  so last night the wife is working, the kids are getting ready for bed and i'm watching futurama.

  doorbell rings.

  now it's dark, snowing and i live on a back road, so it's very odd to have a visitor.

  We just had two in one week because the CO was there for a visit, we didn't answer the door either time. It drives me nuts that they come by only when he is in town. It really shows how much they truly care, not!!

  BARBARA ANDERSON - SHOCKING!!

  i don't know why, but it took me up until a few hours ago to read her story at http://www.watchtowerdocuments.com/ and it opened my eyes more than i'd have thought possible.

  having researched the real truth over the past 3 years or so, i felt my disgust was complete, but i was wrong!

  i used to think that bethelites had it made, being in amongst like-minded brothers and sisters every day, but it appears their little 'spiritual paradise' is just a facade.

  I too found her story very interesting, I wish she would write a book and tell us more. I read her bio early on in my journey and it really helped me see what a farce it is. Thank you Barbara!

  so i started a reply on the topic of "what's your status?

  " and it made me think about my df hearing (sorry i can't remember the exact term for what happened).. so i was fading, living in a different country, working & making rare appearances at my kingdom hall.

  i was flat sharing with a sister though.

  I have never been in a committee meeting but one of my closest friends her teenage daughter was. The questions that poor girl was asked were disgusting. They wanted to know what room they did it in, how long and on and on! She was so distraught for a long time over this. One good thing came out of it and it woke my husband and I up!! If I could I would have kicked him in the private parts and told him off. To me that was sexually abuse and she was so depressed and felt so worthless.. I told one of the brothers it was handled inappropriately but he didn't see where anything was done wrong. I will never go into a meeting with any of those men. We are fading but realize we may have to DA ourselves to just have some peace of mind, my husband was an elder and he said he never asked questions like that nor did underhanded things like that. It is a crime!!

  My Mother Passed

  thank you for all of your support durning the two difficult weeks my mother was on her death bed.

  last night at 10:30pm she breath her last with my sister and i by her side.

  this is a real end of an era for me as i have known little these past 8 years other than taking care of my parents.

  after reading coc and isocf i cried, i was in shock, disillusioned, angry, and afraid... anyone wants to share their experience?.

  i would like to see what you think about these questions when compared with your account.. why people from different backgrounds feel similar reactions?

  They changed my life and my husbands. I started to read books about the JW's first and I would tell my husband about upsetting things I read. He would give me the canned response and I said to him "that is exactly what they said you would say"! He said well when you are done I will read it! He hasn't stopped reading since I gave him COC. We are fading at this point but it could change at any time to DA. I had so much anger when I found out the TTATT. I still fight with the anger of existing 30 years of my life in this cult. My husband was a born in and lost 58 years of his life to it. We are thankful that Ray took the time to write two books to help others in the cult. We have given this book to a few friends that have been very grateful to find out the reat truth.

  does anyone ever feel this way when they see older family members (parents, grandparents etc) growing old or experiencing failing health?.

  do you ever feel that you should be able to somehow keep them alive - and feel frustrated and hopeless that you can't?.

  I get it too. My parents are in their late 70's and I am very blessed that they were never JW's and they are very healthy and active. They have a great life traveling, exercising, golfing and many other activities. They don't even look like they are in their 70's but I dread the day when they do start to go down hill. I feel like I lost so much time with them because of this crummy religion. They never talked to me about it but just continued to stay in touch. I cried when one of my siblings told me that Dad use to cry at Christmas because we weren't there and that they needed to be careful so they wouldn't lose me to this cult!! I am thankful they never gave up on me.

  There is a pioneer sister who gets on FB every day and posts a subject she gets from the WT and it didn't dawn on me until my husband said that is how she is getting her hours in.

  My 66th birthday is today!!

  once i was little boy in fort worth, texas living with my maw maw and paw paw and mommy.. then, i was an 18 year old 6'4'' skinny 165lb religious nut being dipped in a baptismal during a local assembly.. suddenly, i was 20 and listening to a jail cell door clang behind me as a conscientious objector.. wow!

  23 years old and put on parole until my 6 years sentence was ended!

  i got married to a nice jw girl and had 3 kids!.
